Short bio

Soulfunktion is a 7–8 piece Seattle–Tacoma band delivering a 100% live funk, soul, R&B, Motown and disco dance party, with no tracks and no lip-syncing. Every note, every solo and every beat is performed on the spot. Together about 12 years, Soulfunktion has been entertaining the Seattle–Tacoma area for over 10 years. Fronted by new lead singer Heather, the band plays hand-picked sets that run from timeless Motown and 70s funk grooves to modern hits that keep the party going all night. We bring our own full PA and lighting, so festivals, galas, weddings and private parties get a complete, stress-free show.

Long bio

Authentic Energy. No Tracks. Just Soul.

Soulfunktion is a high-energy, 7–8 piece collective dedicated to the art of 100% live music. Together about 12 years, Soulfunktion has been entertaining the Seattle–Tacoma area for over 10 years. We play weddings, corporate galas, casinos, festivals and private parties across Seattle, Tacoma, Bellevue, Auburn and the greater Pacific Northwest.

In a world of backing tracks, pre-recorded loops and AI-generated content, Soulfunktion keeps it real. No clicks. No tracks. Just real musicians creating an organic experience. Live music should breathe. We read the room: if the dance floor is jumping, we extend the groove, and if the vibe shifts, we shift with it.

The band is now fronted by new lead singer Heather. Our hand-picked setlist is built to keep diverse crowds moving: soul and funk classics, R&B and Motown gold, and disco, pop and contemporary dance hits. That range makes us a hit at everything from all-ages festivals to elegant evening galas. For quieter rooms, our low-volume version, Soulfunktion Lite, plays smooth and jazzy versions of our songs.

Soulfunktion is a turnkey act. We bring a professional-grade PA system, stage lighting and sound engineering suited to everything from intimate private parties to large outdoor festivals. Our multi-cultural lineup brings a sophisticated, inclusive energy to every stage. We pride ourselves on clear communication and punctuality, and we're organized from the first quote to the final teardown.

Recent stages include Edgewood Summerfest, which we've played four times since 2023, plus private New Year's Eve events at Twin Lakes Golf & Country Club and a Federal Way golf & country club, and McMenamins Spanish Ballroom in Tacoma.
